About Joe Savelberg

Jochen "Joe" Savelberg is the developer behind GuruHits and the founder of Euregio.Net AG, a web-hosting company in Belgium's Euregio region. Beyond hosting, Euregio.Net offers web design, online marketing and SEO, email services, server optimization, custom programming, and domain registration — and runs an entertainment network of its own.

A Mac user since 1984, Joe built a long line of those entertainment products on Apple's HyperCard — most visibly GuruHits (1997–2014), the SABAM-licensed online music quiz this site preserves, but also LoveTest (around 650 million quizzes completed), a numerology service, and a horoscope production system that ran in HyperCard until 2024 before being migrated to PHP and MySQL.

Today he builds Privatim, privacy-first software that detects and redacts personal data before it's shared. This site is his attempt to preserve one early corner of the web — and the story of building an online service, alone, when that was still something one person could do.
